REMOVAL TIPS FROM COUNTRY CAPITAL REMOVALS IN NEW ENGLAND NORTH WEST

ADVICE FROM EXPERIENCED MOVERS

No matter how many times you’ve moved, it’s easy to forget simple principles that will make your move easier when you’re under immense stress. That’s why our professionals have compiled a list of tips to make sure you don’t complicate things for yourself.

LEAVE OUT THE ESSENTIALS

It’s a common mistake to pack away items that you use on a daily basis. To avoid doing this, keep your essential items unpacked until the final days before your move.

MARK ALL YOUR BOXES

Keep things organized by marking all your boxes clearly. You can keep your fragile items safer by clearly indicating on the outside of boxes that there are delicate items inside.

START PLANNING EARLY

As with everything else in life, it’s good to get a head start on your moving job. We advise that you begin at least two to three weeks in advance in case complications arise.

PREPARE YOUR MATERIALS

Make sure you have everything you need as you begin packing. Start by ensuring that you have sufficient boxes, packing tape, Bubble Wrap, marking pens and other needed materials. Be cautious of newspaper as it can rub off and leave residue on your items.

KEEP IT AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE

It’s good to have a system as you pack and move, but make sure it’s simple and understandable for the sake of those helping you. Numbered labels work well when cross-referenced in a notebook.

DON’T OVERLOAD OR UNDERFILL

Remember that your boxes must be lifted, stacked and transported. As such, you should minimise the number of boxes used by filling them to capacity without overfilling. When possible, refrain from packing boxes to be overly heavy. This makes things easier on your movers.
